Favorite way to fight?

So whats your favorite way to fight in shogun 2? (with exception of naval battles, havn't tried yet)

Haven't gotten far enough to use Matchlocks yet, the Uesugi campaign on hard is brutal; not so much by the battles themselves but how the AI will come at you in numbers.

Best way to prolong yourself, whittle their units down before they clash with yours. Melee archers make me trololol.

In all my Total War games I like a mixed unit strategy (archers, melee infantry and cav). When I finally get this one it will probably similar.

can't just say one...because your stupid to fill your army with only one type to be good at the game you jhave to know how to mix and untilize all unit types

just earlier today i was outnumbed i had two units of archers i put them on the top of a hill put spear units on the bottom of the hill in spear wall formation and had a fire thrower siege engine off to the side with spear samurai ready to assist normal spear units in combat if needed they had a bunch of normal spear units i killed their general with the seige engine and killed a large chuck of there infantry before they even got to the hill the archers killed enough of the remainders they routed i won without a single casualty being outnumber by almost double

I usually put my archers up front and harass them until they most always try to charge my archers, then drop my archers back behind my line of spear and katana infantry

Didn't mean to spam the army with only that unit. Mix it up too or lose!

Pretty sure it's not implying what one unit do you spam your army with. It's just saying what something like "What unit/s do you pride your army on the most?"

In my case, its Archers and that doesn't mean all I have are archers; just that I love having the archer advantage over the opponent.
