Alright Folks, Dr. Compton has asked me to post this. I in no way mean to take away from the Realism Campaign handbook but I feel I need to specify some things.
Ask not what eGO can do for you, but what you can do for eGO.
Guide to realism etiquette.

love ya'all,Our Realism and public realisms are very different. I've complied a guide to help understand these differences. Members of the realism community take certain things very seriously. Some things more seriously then eGO's realism.
I. Always remember that you wear an eGO tag.
You are there to uphold eGO standers and act as a liaison to the community to show them exactly what kind of people we are at eGO. Many realism and pub players will mock eGO because a few bad admins have made choices over the years. Its our job to prove them wrong. This isn't done by actively persuading them...It's done by showing off eGO's mindset. A mature place for people of all ages to play together. So. Watch your language, respect all players and most importantly act in good faith. Follow all of eGO's rules at all times. If you can't handle yourself then don't come play in pub realism with us. We will not hesitate to report you to our leadership for infractions that shine a bad name on eGO. We all love eGO too much to let that happen.
II. Follow the orders of Realism Admins
All Pub realisms have home admins typically 1-3 in a server at a time. At the beginning of a new round you need to line up on the wall with the other players. If you're playing on certain servers (6th RB or 8th ID) you may notice that they line up in a squad like fashion if you ever see a group of players line up like that understand that you are not welcome in that formation as you are not a member of theirs. Instead there will be a designated “pub” spot. This is most notable on Donner where us pub players line up on the tree. The next thing to do is check out the other players. If the players are lining up with pistols out (6th RB) it's probably a hint to have yours out as well. AND JUST BECAUSE you're not in a line doesn't mean you don't need to be still. I hate getting chewed out by admins because “another eGO member” was disrespecting his unit/time by shooting his weapon while a formation was called. Or an eGO member was running around freely. Just because other pubs do this doesn't mean we should. We hold ourselves to a higher standard and try to respect everyone (even if we disagree with them) At all times follow the leaders of the realism
III. Following your CO's over the cliff
I may be the most guilty of breaking this rule, but now I just rage quit instead of breaking it. Even if what your commanding office is doing is completely against what you think is good do it anyways. If you don't like how they're leading volunteer to lead. They're the ones that stepped up to lead in the first place. “In order to be a good leader, one must first be a good follower” sometimes it's painful to play a match constantly dying because you where placed in a bad spot..but it's an evil we all must face. I praise Dr.Compton for being the best about following this rule. He often complains to me in steam about horrible spots he's been placed in. But he still follows orders and does so well.
IV. Talking over microphone. This is the one that bothers the most players. Knowing when it is the appropriate time to speak over the microphone. When is it appropriate? When you are not receiving orders or waiting to receive orders. Unless the round is live. Assume it's not okay to speak on the microphone. Of course if you've already receive orders from your CO and you're all just chilling waiting for the round to live it's okay to chit-chat. But wait until the business is done...also try to keep the talking while playing down to only tactical communication :]
V. Cheating
Being an eGO member it is never appropriate to cheat in a game. The major way to cheat in realism is ghosting. Never ghost, ever. If I catch you ghosting I will personally report you to the realism admins and have you banned from their server. This is something that is not acceptable in realism communities. There's a level of trust here and we're in that circle of trust. I know it may be hard but watch what you say in vent/steam about who killed you and where they where until after the match is over.
VI. Team Killing. Here's a tricky one. NEVER intentionally kill a team mate. Use your MINIMAP to your advantage. But occasionally it does happen. We all understand it and we all have been guilty of it. The moment you do it however, make sure to apologize WITH THE person's name e.g. “sorry Captain Murphy” You can explain it after you die. But for the time being please just apologize. It's the respectful thing to do.
VII. Team Chat and All Chat
Unless you're apart of the regular community on a realism server and everyone knows you and is okay with it. You should never speak in all chat. Only into team chat. It's disrespectful to the other team and to the realism hosts. Only speak in team chat. When you die and go to spec then you can talk all you want.
VIII. Boundaries
I can't say how many times i've seen an eGO player cross the boundary lines on a map. Here's a hint. ASK. Never be afraid to ask...and if you don't get a response (unlikely) assume the middle flag is the boundary.
IX. Basic Weapons
The basic weapon for realism is a rifle. When you start a round take a rifle. Let your CO designate if someone gets a new weapon. In eGO realism we always use the same weapons restrictions. In pub realism it's up to the two Commanding officers to choose what the weapons restrictions are. Just keep an open eye as to what they say and let them handle weapon placement.
X. Rifle Nade Priming
Just a word of advice here a lot of servers don't allow rifle nade priming. The rifle nade will stick in your hand. It's a good idea to ask if it's allowed before playing.
XI. Barricades:
Again different servers have different barricade rules. Make sure you're clear on these rules BEFORE barricading a room. Normally the best rule to follow is EASILY movable/breaking-able. Pianos and bed frames are typically frowned upon.
XII. Last couple of rules:
Some servers allow team pickups only others allow all. Always ask first...Oh and one last thing..Even though other players may choose unrealistic positioning doesn't mean you shouldn’t :]

they're pubs for a reason, i find units take scrims and league games much more serious. not to say they dont want order in their pub servers though, and i hope everyone with an eGO tag follows their orders. i mean, i remember on i think 6rb we had a game where each team had 3 rockets and 2 mgs.... when it was only 10 v 10.
