WWII machine gun found in Lithuanian mail

VILNIUS, Lithuania -- Lithuanian customs and postal officials say they have found a fully functional machine gun dating from World War II, complete with ammunition, in a package at Vilnius International Airport.

Officials said Tuesday that the German-made MG-42 machine gun was found after scanning a suspicious 20-kilogram (44-pound) package posted in Lithuania and bound for Germany.

Customs spokeswoman Asta Mikeleviciute says it was the first time that customs authorities had ever uncovered such a parcel and an investigation has been launched.

No evacuation of the capital's airport was ordered, but authorities were placed on alert.

More than 65 years after the war, Lithuania and other East European countries continue to uncover large amounts of weaponry and unexploded ordnance.

This was not an official Axis team smuggling. We had no idea what was going on here. IT was out of our control. This was done by a private party for their personal benefit. The Axis Team in no way takes responsibility for this, as we had no knowledge this was going on...

hahaha...thats sick...hilarious but sick just the same...can you imagine being in the woods huntin and hearin someone open up on small game with a 42?...all the poofs of fur...lol...

didnt miss the point of it...my mind just took off and started seeing all the poofs of fir like a field of dandelions if you were to actually use a mg42 for small game...
 
An mg-42 for small game? I do that all the time! The only problem is if you actually want to eat anything you have to use only a real quick burst. Even then you might get much. I prefer to use my mg-42 for wild boar hunting... From a helicopter...
 
I use C4 explosive for hunting animals, however I never seem to find out why after the first one goes off they all scatter, its like they have somewhere to be...

And you can only get so close until they can hear you, then you chuck it, not too close, we dont want to dice the meat to finely.
