Computer Build Help

Metro 2033 is probably the most GPU intensive at the moment. Other hard to run games on a 6850 would be what Phobus said.

To be able to run on max later you'd need a stronger GPU

An HD 6900 series card, or a GTX 570/580/590. Well, except for the GTX 550 Ti, the whole GTX 500 series.

Here is what appears to be my final build (keyboard, mouse, OS, and dvd-rom i already have.)

So guys comment and someone tell me that these things are all compatible. Need to double check. thank you.

There's a working link. Flickr is weird. >.>

It's alright. I don't know why you're wanting to get Open Box items. Unless you're experienced in trouble shooting or advanced trouble shooting, then I wouldn't bother. The power supply is.. eh...
Other than that, it's good.

That PSU is not very good at all.

Realistically, it can only output arround 350w, before going out of ATX spec.

I would get a higher quality one, like a CX400, SXS400, or Neo Eco 400.

You have another ATI Radeon Vid Card that is pretty much the same for around the same price?

So that will probably be my vid card and what do you think about this PSU

Rosewill RV2-600 600 W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V SLI Ready Power Supply

i've never heard of HIS being outstanding, at least in comparison to brands like XFX (get the double lifetime warranty deals if you can), Sapphire and MSI (Twin Frozr cooling system = delicious!). Currently -- after rebate - all three alternatives are cheaper than the HIS versions, as well. Maybe one of those three would be more up your alley?

What's your budget on the power supply? I can't really recommend that PSU unless someone here with experience with that particular unit can vouch for it. :o

Well, i want to try and keep my build under 700

After taking a peak at the build you listed, here's my honest opinion -- it looks great EXCEPT for the power supply and the company that produces the GPU. What I'd do in your shoes -- while still keeping at $700 or less ...

1. Skip the HIS or open-box MSI for your 6870. Nab one of the XFX 6870s with double lifetime warranty, or a (non-OB) MSI 6870 and the rebate means you're actually SAVING $5-15 off in comparison to ordering the HIS, which is $200 flat-out
2. Take the PSUs you were eying out of the equation. Because your choice PSU was $40 + $10 off for the GPU + $40 away from your max budget, you've got a good $90 to spend on a PSU
3. Profit? (<-- not sure if you can see the link -- gorram tiny font :|)
4. bamf, insta-beast rig.

That puts you up to just shy of $700 shipped, if my math doesn't suck.

I've only ever heard good things about that PSU and it's on sale for $90 plus a twenty dollar MIR. There are folks more knowledgable in beastly PSUs than I who will undoubtedly give you more options and other deals to browse through, too.

Ill take a look at it ill inbox you in a bit and when i have that i will post my final build that i will get.

Sounds good, and feel free to post it here too. That way everyone can take a look and critique it! :>

Alright they have to be atleast 510 watts though because it said that i should have a 507w

So that will probably be my vid card and what do you think about this PSU

Rosewill RV2-600 600 W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V SLI Ready Power Supply

the only good series that rosewill makes is their "green" series, everything else is subpar.

if you must have >500w, i would suggest this power supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371030&Tpk=neo eco 520

Based on modified Seasonic S12II design, 80+ bronze, and can actually deliver it's rated wattage, unlike the rosewill.

If you don't want to wait for that to come back in stock, here is almost exactly the same unit:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151094&cm_re=s12II-_-17-151-094-_-Product
