So im wondering what can be the cause of ping spikes?
My ISP is teksavvy and i have 5mbps download, which im almost always getting 4.2-4.6, always...its DSL internet, but for instance today from around 8p until now 10p i get random ping spikes.
playing CSS i'll just be lingering at 150-200 ping/latency when i usually get 60-70. Im figuring its mostly on my ISPs side since it only happens at periods in the day, but to those that think its just traffic...i am SUPPOSED to be DSL (dedicated service line) which is SUPPOSED to eliminate that crap.
so really, are there any other reasons i could be having ping spikes?? It primarily only happens for games, CSS, LoL, etc, i'll get a little bit of lag. when i exit out of the game and run speedtest it shows my ping as low again blah blah.
I will bring this up with my ISP in a few days when i pay the bill, but otherwise if any of you have any other ideas let me have em. thanks
