Global Event Changes

<div style="width: 500px; text-align: center" align="center">The monthly, rotating division, event that had a pay out of a $100 VISA gift card has been discontinued. The poor attendance of some of the events has convinced the EdgeGamers Council that the expense was not a good use of important donated funds.

The $100 amount (actually $105.45 with processing and shipping) will remain on the monthly budget, but it will be used either in it's entirety or divided up, on a case by case basis, for well attended events.

Special thanks goes out to the Personnel Service Center for taking on the task of coordinating events, and to the divisional leadership, who worked so hard to bring them to us. The decision to discontinue the prize allotment had nothing to do with their efforts.

possibly... but the shoutbox server takes up alot of resources what we really need is five more jail servers..

We will still be holding events, just not ones that are using eGO's donations. More ideas are in the works.

Not to mention, it's absolutely ridiculous when non-members compete in the events, win, take the prize and then disappear... That's exactly what happened with the last PSC/CoD event. I for one am very glad to see this change, our funds are far too precious to be wasted on ungrateful people.

Its even worse when they win like a novint falcon and then disappear or get banned.
