Hey guys,

Yeah there was a thread over in off-topic and entertainment but it didn't last long. So I thought I'd post in misc. games and hopefully have more luck.

Did you play the Darkspore Beta? Did you like it? Are you going to get it?

I played the beta (will do so more in a bit before I go to work) and I really enjoyed it.

My main team is Arborus, Magnos, and Lumin. However, I just switched out Lumin for Savage. Tank team!

I pre-ordered the game last night and can't wait for it to come out. I don't even mind starting over, there are some heroes I would prefer not to unlock because I just don't use them that much.

If you are curious what the game is, it's an action-online RPG. There is not a monthly fee however. It feels very much like Diablo, but the sheer number of heroes available makes me think of League of Legends. So it's like a cross of the two with more PvE available.

I like it, I am going to enjoy it much when it comes out. If you are playing it of course I would love to team up with other members. My in-game name is TheSpitfired.

I played the beta and like what they did with it. I am not, however, going to buy it.

I'm going to pass it up in favor of Torchlight II because I can't justify laying down $50 for an Diablo-style Action RPG when TLII is only a couple of months away and it will only be $20.

That said, price aside, I think Darkspore will be a fine game and do well; but I won't shell out more money for a game when there's another small yet proven company out there that puts out a game of similar quality, that is very interactive w/ the community, and encourages them to mod and create content along w/ them at a lower price point.

Perhaps if it goes on sale I'll pick it up as long as the community is still going strong, but it'll hafta be at a decent discount.

Oh and as for the beta experience, Zrin was probably my favorite character (though I only got to lvl 7).

I hit lvl 15 before work last night (the supposed beta cap) and got Savage and Andromeda unlocked.

I am hoping there will be a decent number of eGO people with this game. Don't get me wrong I have no problem meeting new people for gaming, it is just nice to know with eGO peeps you are guaranteed quality right off the bat.

I get what you are saying Kun, I didn't get into the first torchlight but I know a few people who did and really dug it.

P.S. My main squad is now Arborus, Magnos and Savage. Once I finally was able to buy Savage a weapon he turned into a behemoth! Quite possibly my favorite hero at this point. Wish there was at least one more option for a necro tank though (only Wraith I think).

I think the problem with the game is the price and it's too repetitive, i won't pay 50 bucks just to do the same thing every time i play

I agree with the price being a problem, but repetitive-ness can pretty much be applied to any game. The same chars, the same levels, the same monsters, etc. etc. The way people get around it is that they make use of the multiplayer aspect of the game. They team up and every person is different in their play-style, so it's fun to run stages or dungeons or boss runs w/ different people and the heroes that chose just to see how well you can work together.

I am going through withdrawals lol.

My main squad ended up being Arborus (lvl41), Magnos (lvl 40) and Savage (lvl 40).

Every hero I had picked was at least level 35 by the end of my time with the beta, except for Vex who still owned at 34.

Can't wait for this game to come out. April 26th! Again if anyone else gets it let me know! My room-mate and I will be happy to have anyone join us on our adventures!
