Renekton IS overpowered. The only reason Riot hasn't nerfed him yet is because they want to gauge his power correctly and not overnerf him to his release where he was useless.

I love Renekton but he is able to pull of insane stuff when he has solo top lane when played correctly and after that he wrecks carries in team fights making it a lose lose situation. He dives into the middle of your team, stuns your carry, and sticks on them. The carry has to focus him but he is so insanely tanky that without the carries damage the rest of the team will die to yours.

But Beta is right about Merc Treads. It will reduce the damage his ultimate does and reduce the duration of his stun, most teams will have much more crowd control than Renekton and magic resist is always worth getting.

He is overpowered early and mid game. Late game, he's a little off (You don't do enough damage, and you're just a tough dps, not a tank, meaning you can die easily if you're focused).

But that is the point, late game you can buy items like Thornmail and Force of Nature and soak all the damage the carries and mages are going to do to your team. If their carries are wasting all their cooldowns and damage on you, you are already winning the teamfight. He can't be ignored.

Lol vudu :P

Nah, Cho isn't OP, he's just a good champion played right. When fighting multiple enemies try not to target him, kill the rest of his team and he's useless and will either be forced to retreat or die. Same with other tanks.

Shen vs Cho'Gath, they're both good, it really depends on your playstyle and team comp IMO. Shen has a real nice AOE Taunt that can also allow him to escape through jungle, Cho has an AOE Silence which is real nice. Shen's shield is sweet, and so's his knife, but Cho's AOE knock up is great as well. His E (I think, the one that shoots the spikes out when he autoattacks) isn't all that great, its OK for farming, but besides that isn't that great. His R does true damage and can really turn the tide in a gank or team fight, but if a Shen player is really on the ball about paying close attention to the status of his team and knows his own capabilities then he can save the day like no other with his ult.

Renekton on the other hand, yeah I'd say he's a bit OP when played by a good player at this point. Not too OP, but a bit.

If I had to pick the single most powerful character in the game right now, it would be Renekton. His presence dominates the lane, it dominates teamfights, he does great damage while being incredibly tanky, he has hard CC, his abilities are completely spammable, he has a double dash...

I agree. Which is why I got him. The first 10 matches I won and carried my team. So far, I've played 20 matches and lost 3. I've carried at least 15 times. I just hate that I have a 15-0-5 score by mid game and it turns to being 20-10-25 late game.

BTW. Carmine, I've never seen you on League of Legends. What's your in-game-name?

I play Cassiopeia, i think its funny when chogath just sits in my miasma, herp derp, bye bye hp.

The thing that makes Cho'Gath "seem" Over powered is that he can get resist items, such as FoN, or a Thornmail early, since his ulti gives him basicly free health. So his Mid-game is much more stronger as a tank, where as most tanks have to get a health item. Also, remember, CHo'gath's Ulti deals TRUE DAMAGE ( Ignores all magic and armor resists) so no matter how much resist you have, it is still going to deal the damage.

Now to the topic of "Tanks" in general they deal way too much damage than they should. In My opinion, Tanks are there to gain Aggro, provide items such as an Orical, defend the carry and CC the enemy team. But they end up dealing more damage from ability bases than DPS's.

If a tank did no damage, there would be no reason to kill them at all. Tanks can't gain aggro (see also threat) in this game, because players are not forced to attack based on threat amounts. If a tank has no CC (which not all do) and no damage (which not all have, at least in high amounts), the only reason to pick them would be to soak up tower shots, at which point you could simply stack health on a carry and profit. They deal more damage from 'ability bases' because they don't have the strong auto-attack damage that carries do, so they must be balanced in some way.
