Have you ever played Counter Strike, and realize that you wanted to check your e-mail/look at your favorite website/move to a different Ventrilo channel? We all know that Source engine games HATE the Alt-Tabbing method. If you Alt-Tab, it could crash your game!
What can you do to prevent this? Simple! Look no further! Put on your top hat and monocle because you are one step away from being the multitasking gentleman you were born to be!
First, go to your games list. Find Counter Strike: Source, right click it, and click "Properties". It brings up a neat little window. Under the option to enable Steam Community In-Game, there is a button that says "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS...". Click it, and it brings up a small window that only takes text input. What do you put in the box? Easy. Type -noborder into the box. Make sure there are no spaces.
Small tip: Along with the -noborder option, there are multiple launch options that can be put into the box, but you can research those for yourself.
Now launch CS:S. Press the Options button, then go to the Video tab. Click down the "Display Mode" box and choose "Run in a Window". Set your preferred resolution and press "Apply". Bam. You are now a multitasking gentleman!

Q:But Beta, I'm a pro l337 gamer! Would this hurt any mechanics in CS:S?
A:Nah man, nah. This does not take anything away from the game.
Q:What do I need to know when I use this method, Beta?
A:I can't tell if I am the only person in the world who has this issue, but sometimes I cannot Alt-Tab to another window when CS:S is running with these options. Its solved when I restart the game.

A:Anything running on the Orange Box engine (TF2, DOD:S, etc.) can use this technique.
