NEVERMIND - the alt tab bug is still there even in this window mode. you can't open console or backspace - so no difference, i'll stick to full screen

Actually, to save a slight amount of time, you could do this:

That defaults it to windowed mode whenever it launches, regardless of what option you choose in-game.
