Dxdiag?

Alright, let me start off that my computer was affected with a virus about a month ago. Since I am very illiterate when it comes to the language of computer, I paid a guy to come over to have a look. Then, when my computer was fixed I decided to install all of my computer games. Turns out, a few things did not work. When I finished installing Halo CE (yes its an old game, but what can I say I have had it for quite some years) and tried running it, a little pop-up comes up saying Halo- Fatal Error- "A problem has occurred initializing DirectDraw. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG." Well, I then ran DXDIAG and nothing happened.

If you could take on this task, I would greatly appreciate it!
