I'm thinking of charging $5 per answer. Would that make me a jerk?

J/K I'll tell you if you need it.

eh?

I have a dual core, no real lag, just slow and low fps.

I've tried a lot, used a 6600gt before, got 60+fps, now with an 8800, I average 40. Any tips there? :P

What kind of lag do you mean here? If you mean fps lag, then i dont have any problems, but i recently started getting internet lag-like problems, but my latency and connection are just fine.

The players seem to warp around for maybe 10 seconds, then everything is fine again for a few minutes, then an another 10 second lag spike comes.

I was having the 10 second lag quakes and read half the web to find out that certain PC combinations require you to open task manager and go to a new tab called "Set Affinity". Then you choose the CPU core that you want to handle the game. Close and you're cool. DOD is supposed to add support for dual processors soon but some of these old games get all tangled up with 2 procs active. Happens with both AMD and Intel.

if you have a pc with lots of power and you're having performance problems it is most likely software related : )

Dual Core + 8800 GTX, some lag spikes sometimes but that could be my failing internet or my Dual core has slightly to less power. ^^

Wow! Let me write that down! No! I can copy and paste it! Wait! Software screws up on fast machines! I'll just write it down to be sure.
:O

dual core 2.8 (OC 3.0) + 8800 GTS + 2gb RAM = 150+FPS constant and 400-600 constant on orange maps, all pending.

HAHDAHHAHAHAHAHAA...how you make me laugh...

Hey everlast, you probably have vertical sync enabled. This syncs your framerate with your monitor's refresh rate. Disable this option for higher fps. This is only a guess, because video cards usually don't just sit at 60 fps with that much power for no reason =P.

I have DuelCore and i have massive lag ... might be because im from Europe though ?
