my whole senior year in high school i was enlisted in the United States Marine Corp but then a month before i was going to leave for boot camp i ran into some medical problems and was not able to go. but right now im in college working on getting a bachelor degree and im probable going to look into the Marine Corp again after school ether as becoming an officer or just enlisting again.
How many of you are interested in joining the military?

i'd go definatly. Prolly in the army of USA. Belgium kinda has no army

I wanted to join the Marines back in High School with my friends, most of whom did join, but it was more of the money for school aspect that drew us in.
When I learned more about life, and figured out that it would mean actually taking another persons life, who had a family, and friends of their own, I lost interest.
I did take my pre-practice-Asvab thing(The one for marines), aced it even, but like I said, I lost interest. Games , in my opinion, do glorify the military at times, and do not take into account post traumatic stresses, the mental pressures, and desensitization of war into effect. I know I'm not allowing my kids to play the games I did. lol
Being a military brat, my family, none of whom had been deployed during war except for my Father, was angry when I changed my plans. My dad got it, he was stationed on a carrier during WWII. Yes, he's old. He got the NU commendation ribbon, haha..... google rules.
The fact that my father refuses to discuss wartime spoke volumes to me as to why joining the military was not for me.
