I'm going to take a guess, and say you will get the "1.5" version back (i think they have a "d" on the end of the model on the sticker)

That is if they don't just repair yours. (not sure what kind of damage yours had)

It is an upgrade in terms of performance, but a downgrade in build quality. Pretty even trade unless you plan on keeping the thing for the next 9001 years.
 
Soory guys been busy at work, so what im going to do since I just got my income tax back is get a new psu/case

My question is what's the difference between a single 12 rail and duel 12v rail pros and cons?

I was looking between the coolermaster silent pro gold 1000 or corsair hx 1000? And new case nzxt phantom
 
If you have a single 48 amp rail or 2-24 amp rails, you dont have to worry about load balancing. If you have a dual you do, (That's not really a major issue either way) because
Its still the same 48 amps coming from the same transformer.

Only disadvantage I can think of to a single rail is when its underpowered and thats not really a rail issue but a power issue.

nothing. (although silent pro gold and HX1000 are both mediocre units)

load balancing issues are an issue, if you plan on buying your psu in 2005. By now, they have ironed out all the kinks.

What is the price rang? I'm assuming $230ish since that is what the ones he wanted go for.

If you can find one, the NZXT Hale90 series is also based on SF GG, along with the 1kw variant of the Rosewill lightning.

if you don't like the colors of that one,
Antec TPQ 1200w would be my next choice. It is capable of being a 1700w PSU, but Antec a. wanted 80+silver b. realized that no one has outlets rated for over ~1500w, so they just made it a really efficient 1200w unit

If for some reason, you don't like that one, then there is always the trusty
Enermax Revolution 1020w. doesn't perform as well as the above, but still miles better than the HX1000/SPG.

If you need me to go into more depth about my reasoning, i can.
 
1000w is based on an older design than the 1200. If you can afford it, i would definetly go with the 1200

the TPQ1000 i would say is on the same level as the HX1000

EDIT: what do you need 1kw for anyways? i dont remember if you said it or not yet.
 
To be honest, it CAUGHT MY EYE:biggrin: and just to make sure ill have enough power for my SLI config..
 
hey, I work very hard for my money might as well enjoy it with my hobby :) plus its the money from my taxes so its ok :P

Er, I did take his advice witch is why i said that psu CAUGHT MY EYE, matches my color scheme and its a decent psu as he stated... but other then that thank you for your opinion
 
idk, i think he took my advice pretty well.

he isn't going to buy a HX1000/SPG any more :D

which model is your old psu btw? is is a TR2?
