Best game you ever played?

[Donnie the Dinosaur]

Battlefield 2 was my favorite for a long time, some of its predecessors are pretty bad compared to it though. *cough* 2142

2142 isn't that bad

The best game I ever played was Gears of War when it first came out.. :thumbup1:

[Nirahtci]

Final Fantasy VII.

Truth.

However, I don't have a favorite as much as I have many favorites.

In no particular order:

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Final Fantasy 7
Persona 3 <- Best RPG I have EVER played EVER
Chrono CROSS (I liked the crazy out there story and the silly plot twists over Trigger's story)
Morrowind (400+ hours in a character, with things I could still do)
Halo 2, all the other Halos suck profusely.

And whoever mentioned Super Mario RPG, I wish I could give you a hug.

[Sinful1]

Black Hawk Down, and Team Sabre. Before the hacks took over.

[CopperAle]

Lots of great games over the the years but I will always remember Wolfenstein 3D on the PC and Mario Bros on the NES.

[TomsSound]

Starsiege: Tribes
Call of Duty 4
Quake 1 and 3
Super Mario Brother 1, 3 and world.

[Kevimaster]

Team Fortress 2
Portal
StarWars: Republic Commando (absolutely loved this game)
Half Life 2
Rome: Total War
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
League of Legends
Left 4 Dead (one, not L4D2)
Killing Floor
Red Orchestra

And more

Quake/GLQuake/

Playing online. With my Voodoo 2 and my 56 k modem.

It totally changed the gaming world, created an immersive true 3d enviroment, introduced the word frags, clans, ping, to the everyman.

Every game ever made since quake owes quake for creating this gaming market.

Tribes has a special place in my heart too.

And I almost forget the very first one that hooked me.
The original Wolfenstein playing it on a 486 CPU and being absolutely 100% addicted to it.

[Spitfire'd]

3 people have mentioned Starsiege Tribes, and that just makes me happy that others have played it.

Unfortunately, it is not my answer. The best game I have ever played (and my favorite of possibly all time) is Secret of Mana on the Super Nintendo.

Hours upon hours. Loved the game, loved the music, loved the story. What a great game.

[Tension]

Half Life 1/2. It's a tie.
