Ok,
A friend has a minecraft server that he hosts, and hes trying to make a proxy to it but he has no clue how, anyone know?

After struggling for a bid scouring the interwebs for a method to make the standalone app work with a HTTP proxy server, and not finding all the info in one place, i found a little trick that works for me.

Windows, stand-alone client:
1 copy the Launcher(Minecraft.exe) to the minecraft bin directory (C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data.minecraft\bin )
2 Create a batch file in the same directory
3 copy paste this text into it
java -Dhttp.proxyHost=hostIP -Dhttp.proxyPort=hostPort -Xmx800m -jar Minecraft.exe
note that the batch file is calling the .exe, not the .jre. This is normal
4 Change hostIP and hostPort with appropriate values
5 Launch Minecraft from the batch file.

Is this what you were looking for? If not, could you go into detail on what you're trying to do?
