Should HLStatsX point notifications be on by default?

Specifically, messages such as "Whisker Biscuit got x points" and "Newb got x points for killing you".

I'd say no, unless there is a way to keep them from clogging up the chat output. If that were doable (i.e. only I can see the notifications when I kill someone or they kill me), I'd say yes.

Also, potatos are great.

I would say yes, just because its easier to keep track of your points, but then again theres a no side of it also, where when you kill so many people and eventually your whole chat box gets filled up haha.

I turn it off in the other games as well. Simple commands will bring up your overall points, so having it show after every kill is annoying.

You can obviously turn it on in TF2 with that menu also.

if you want to know your stats just type "rank" into all chat. Then the only person who gets cluttered is yourself.

No, as I will just rage when a new player gets a random kill on me when I have 1 HP left from taking down the other team's entire sentry setup and see that I lose 25 points. I know that happens now, but I prefer not to see it. Plus it'll make the game way more competitive, and will clog up the chat.

Get rid of the big annoying HLstats is monitoring blah blah text that pops up, too. Screws up my sniping.

depends. I only want to see the points i get: for example

- if i kill spidey, that's right spidey, then i want to see: slayer got x points for killing spidey
- if spidey kills me, most likely not going to happen, then i want to see: spidey got 0 points for killing slayer
- if random guy1 kills random guy2 then i don't wanna see anything.
