Hi all. I already posted in Tech Help but they weren't a lot of help.
Basically, I recently got a new N router and since then I haven't been able to get a good connection to our bc2 servers. I can connect to tf2 and css servers with no problem.

Someone in tech help suggested opening ports in the router, however I don't know how to do that (Netgear router). I tried port forwarding, and I either didn't set it up right or it just didn't work.

Anyone have any help for me? It's so annoying :cursing::facewall:

Thanks
Pwnt

Same stuff with me.
I am hard wired into the router (was never an issue before)
Now I play with 200-300 ping and it's unplayable...I don't know enough about computers to fix it, so it looks like i'll be done with BC2.

For me it was punk buster, update that.. It might help a tad

If anyone figures out what is going on please let me know, Symbiotic Disharmony iws having the exact same problem.

I've a Netgear Wireless-N 300 series, model WNR2000_v2

Port forwarding given ports for BC2 doesn't work for all routers.

If you have not tried DMZ yet..try it.

DMZ is the only thing that solved my *5min into the game than DC issue and my *999ping issue.

Enable DMZ(in your router setup/settings area) when you are about to play BC2 and disable it when your done playing. If your gonna leave DMZ on, make sure you've got an antivirus running though it's highly recommended that you switch it off after BC2 since you have no issue with any other game.

I didn't even have to open ports on my firewall. That's probably not the issue. Try a Punkbuster reinstall like muffinz said. I may try adding the ports as a test but my ping's not too bad but always in the 100's and always has been.
