Battlefield 3 Build

Hey guys, need a good build to play Battlefield 3 at the end of the year. Gonna start saving up this month and by November I should have about 2 grand, so try to keep it in between 1800-2100.

Also, this is a complete build, meaning I need not only a tower but also a monitor (20" or more preferably).

Pretty much this. Moreover:

By November you're going to be looking at a very different PC market. Any suggested build will be quite outdated by then, at least in terms of price if not performance as well.

Only thing i would change for now not knowing what the required specs will be is the monitor.

$300 for a 27.5 with higher resolution vs $460 for a 23.6 unless you really want the 3D.

I have this monitor and it will go down to 1080.

Also why going with the off brand GTX560 when EVGA is cheaper. NM the one you had was 2g mem.

I'm surprised no one has caught that he's trying to pair an i5 2500k (1155) with an evga P55 motherboard (1156).

You need to get a socket LGA 1155 motherboard, or that build won't work.

Memory?

DVD/CD drive?

Hard Drive?

Also, get rid of the sound card. onboard will be the better option in this case.

and if you don't have these items:

Monitor

keyboard
speakers/headset

Bulldozer is just around the corner, and we have no idea where it will stand compared to intel's offerings. My advice is to wait on building a system. Just know that for $1800-2000, you can build a system that will be way more than enough to play Battlefield 3.

Updated, I found a few 1155 mobos but can't find one that supports Sli and I might want to do that in the future or if the card goes on sale black friday or cyber monday. Also RAM is only a placeholder, I know its not compatible with every board.

^this as well as 2 other motherboards are in a specific set for being able to oc like a crazy mother. also these boards have some great new technology for cooling. been a while since i read up on that stuff.

overall, i agree w/ everyone else & just set aside the $$ & just wait until around the time that bf3 comes out. when the release date has been announced & the game is about to come out, then buy all the goods (we dont mind recommending newer products as they come out). also make sure to put your $$ into a savings account, that way itll build up extra $$.

Done, I understand everyones concerns. This build is just there so I have a rough idea of what I'm spending, if there is a better deal on a part or the market changes for the worse I'll adjust accordingly. Thanks all.

It should not be hard to build something that can run it. Since it is just using an updated version of the frostbite 2.0 engine, if you ran Bad company 2 fine that you "should" be able to run battlefield 3 fine.

Hopefully this game will be able to be optimized for various systems, just like Crysis 2 did. With that Optimization it makes games easier to run on all sorts of systems.

I can run BFBC2 on 8x AA high settings and get good frame rate. Just kinda give you and idea of what I got. Not necessarily the best for your budget, but I mean it is a good build for under a grand. PSU and MB are SLI ready (this was my first rig I built myself tbh).

The only problem is that my case was a tad small, little difficult on wire management
