Good day!

I have yet to attend the Edge Gamers Organization Orientation Event which will be held on the 22nd of April 2011 at 8:00PM EST. Now, I am very keen about attending this orientation because I believe it will be informative and beneficial to my stay here.

The problem is, I am in Asia (Singapore) and the Time Zone here is UTC/GMT +8 hours. In order to attend this meeting, I need to know what time it would be here at Singapore, when the meeting takes place at the time zone of 8:00PM EST.

One administrator, Bladed, told me that when it happens, it would be a Saturday here in Singapore, and the event will take place at exactly 10:00AM. To ensure my attendance, I would like a confirmation whether the information provided is certain.

Regards,

Connor:biggrin:

It might be safe to PM a member of leadership as they will be able to tell you.

I'm sure it will be recorded if you can't make it.

Hello Darth

I would definitely want to make it, and I will make it there. But what do you mean "recorded"? Do you mean to say recorded as in I get records similar to a demerit system? Or recorded as in my attendance will not be marked and therefore I have to attend a compensative session for the orientation event I had missed?

Regards

Connor

Hutcherson,

what darth was referring to was that all meetings are audio recorded so that if you happen to miss the meeting, you can still listen to it at your own leisure. These recordings are posted to the forums in a timely fashion. So, if the meeting time doesn't fit your schedule, you always have an alternative. Furthermore, e-orientations take place on a regular schedule, so even if you can't make this one, there'll be another one shortly.

Thanks!

A DoD guy that writes with proper English?

I like him already :)

We don't have any kind of demerit system around here; members are always welcome to attend events, and we never penalize people for not attending. The only "mandatory" things I can even remember having are critical Leadership staff meetings, and even those are rare; our principle is that real life always comes before this community. We don't expect people to give up their lives for this community, but you're always welcome to play with us whenever you can.

Try to join us in Ventrilo sometime!

Good evening.

I understand and thank you for your help; it is greatly appreciated. Jeod66, I will be getting Ventrillo soon and hopefully I will be talking to you. I believe I will only get to meet you on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as I said, I am in Asia and unless we are in relatively near time zones, we might have trouble seeing each other much often.

Once again, thank you and I hope to meet you soon.

Regards

Connor
