Ventrilo Spammers becoming a huge problem

I want to bring up a point on ventrilo. Over this past week myself and =(eG)=Major have been noticing an increase in spammers on our ventrilo servers, and its getting extremely old. They have also figured out ways to continue spamming even after they get banned, they just switch IP addresses and continue. I know ignoring them will make them go away, but it happens EVERYDAY! We've had countless advisors and DLs help us out by password protecting some rooms which I thank the ones that helped, much appreciated. Is there anything we can do??

Usually if you just ignore them and don't respond, they'll give up. You can also mute them.

keep in mind that we run a 400 slot ventrilo server for free. Also note that as our server's traffic and popularity rises every day, it becomes a bigger target for spammers.

To help curb this, do not complain in front of the spammers, thats largely their goal, to troll people. Simply stay quiet and find an advisor or DL to get them banned. Do not taunt the spammers, and do not threaten them with bans.

also in responce to the mute there seems to be a way the spammers are getting around it im not quiet sure how but that is also shown in the various youtube video's i think its due to the several accounts of the person spamming but once they are muted another 1 comes in and im pretty sure its 2 people doing it over and over resetting the ip's and re-entering which also is causing vent to lag due to the player re-connecting countless times every minute or so.

also they are using members names to try to confuse dl's and advisors so they ban the wrong person so please be aware of the correct person to deal with.

This thread appears to have been answered. Leadership will continue to remove spammers from our ventrilo. It is inevitable that you will run into one every now and then.
