So.... Any of you fellaz taken it recently? I got my score back from the april one and am very happy.

First time taking it and I got a composite score of 27 :D

I got a 34 on the first section of it :)

Anyone else take it?

i got a 550303482. <--- Amazing Score right there. In fact, they had to create a whole new Tier for me since I was so advanced. =)

Congrats on doing well!

Is this the test you can take instead of SAT if you want the emphasis to be less on math and more on English?

Congratulations on your score!

I think my cumulative ACT score 4 years ago was only something like a 29, yet my SAT topped 1410 with another 720 on the writing...those don't correspond at all, as the charts suggest a 32 ACT by comparison.

I got bored halfway through the ACT and didn't like the structure of the problems/length of each section...oh well, it's the SAT that everyone compares, at least around here. In all seriousness though, if you can, try to take both tests for this very reason. Some people like the SAT a lot more, some prefer the ACT, but colleges almost always accept both scores. It's worth the time, just in case there is a major difference that works to your benefit. Schools usually take the top score, so in my case, the 1410+720 took precedent over the lower ACT score, and got me some more scholarship money, which is always important.

Yea I plan on taking both. I have 3 more years to take em.

I totally lost interest in the ACT on the last section. The science reasoning just stopped making sense to me, so I just filled in bubbles, and didn't care. I got a 21 on that section O.o

I didn't finish 3 of the sections and my essay. I have no idea what my score is.

They didn't even look at my score for entry into my school...in the long run wasn't thinking about that.

The ACT is a national college admission and placement examination. Short for American College Testing, it was officially shortened to ACT in 1996. It was originally founded in 1959 as and is a private, not-for-profit organization.

Looking at their website (http://actstudent.org/index.html), the highest score possible is a 36. There are four sections of the test: English, Math, Reading, and Science. There are 75 questions for English; 60 for Mathematics; and 40 each for Reading and Science. ACT gives you a test score (for each subject) and a composite score (an overall assessment of your test scores). A composite score of 20 means you are at the 50th percentile in the nation (50% did better than you, 50% did worse than you). Information can be found at http://actstudent.org/scores/norms1.html

Personally, I believe I got a 34 on my ACT, and somewhere above 1300 on my SAT (when the max score was still 1600). My best friend, unfortunately, got a 36 ACT, and 1570 SAT.

Because I can't resist, Darth...

It's the first link; the ACT is a standardized college admissions test, most popular in the US Midwest states. It tests a little differently than the standard SAT that most everyone takes. The Writing section was added a few years ago; it's very subjunctive, and a lot of schools don't pay much attention to it (or at least they didn't 3 years ago, in favor of their own admissions essay).

Edit: It's always Snipeye...

Thanks DoD DL's! Lucky I don't have to do them, I hate exams.

Darth: I'm not DoD. I'm WoW.

Jeod: Sorry. ^_^ Funny how its exactly at the same time...

I got a 32 on mine.

ACT is usually more accepted in the middle and west coast, SAT is more east coast oriented for schools generally speaking.

i got a 34 on my ACT and a 1570 out of 1600 on the SAT.

edit: this was a year ago, im a freshman in college now.
