I may as well take a serious crack at it. Been a while since I been in a math class, but here goes.

6?2(1+2) = x

6?2(3)

6?6

x = 1

That's my best guess. Unless I got the part after the paranthesis wrong, though I'm positive multiplication comes before division.

If not, then the answer would be 9. :\

Multiplication and division are at the same time, you go left to right with it.

I find it entertaining that this is such a difficult thing for people to understand. :D

There isn't two answers. The question isn't tricky or ambiguous.

As long as you do your order of operations it is perfectly understandable. As just about everyone is saying: the answer is nine.

As for "PEMDAS" the MD stands for "MD Multiplication and Division (left-to-right)" NOT multiplication THEN division.

So stop trying to use "multiplcation first" as an excuse to get the wrong answer. XD

Regardless, thanks for the fun reading this <3

Order of operations as i had been taught: BEDMAS

Bracket
Exponents
Division
Multiplication
Addition
Subtraction

This thread is stupid and I'm stupid for making it.

Someone lock this before it goes on for another 100 posts.

I don't understand why people think its 1. Follow all basic math from 2nd grade and you get 9.

6/2(1+2) = ?
6/2(3) = ?
3(3) = 9!!!!!!!!

PEMDAS

solve for parenthesis. then since there is division and multiplication left. just because the M comes before the D it is still equal. left to right the division comes first. and then you would multiply.
