Here is a buget build for any 1 it is worth it

other than the crappy power supply, slow 2.5" laptop hard drive, and a processor that is only $10 away from the signifgantly better 955, it is a decent build i guess.

the psu is not a crappy 1 hec is an off brand of antec
and i did not mean a lap top hdd just ment a sata comp hdd

and the cpu is not bad it still has a punch to it and it can be oc at 3.8ghz

HEC is in NO WAY related to antec. Not even close. Infact, if i was an antec rep, i would feel insulted to have ever been put in the same catergory as HEC.

and i see what you did thar with the hdd.....

but for $10 you could get a 955, which would get you that extra 200MHz easy.

And another nitpick, for less than the 4850, you could get a 5770, which would be a much better choice:

I think you could have done a little better on this.

Case: decent. There are better ones for the money.

Hard Drive: Good choice. No complaints.

Motherboard: ASUS is quickly becoming a brand NOT to buy due to their infamous service problems. At this point, Gigabyte and MSI are better brands.

Video card: Crap. A 5770 is better for less money. The 5770 uses less power and is the faster card.

Power supply: Crap. For a $26 PSU, you get what you pay for, even if you think it's a good deal. Never EVER skimp on the power supply, or else you may end up with "crispy" computer parts.

RAM: decent, although if you're planning on overclocking, 1600mhz memory would be better. An extra $10 goes a long way on this one.

CPU: Good, but as others have said, an extra $10 gets you a 955 BE with an unlocked multiplier.

My synopsis of this build is that it's gone a step too low for my liking. It's almost there, but nearly all of the components have pretty severe compromises. Even an extra $50 would get you a system that is light years better than this. Let's also not forget that this build doesn't include two other essential items: CD/DVD drive and Operating system. That's an additional $120.

Sorry, but I wouldn't buy this.

Not to hijack, but isn't MSI supposed to have terribad motherboards?

Low-end, non-DrMos, AMD, boards are not quite adequate in the VRM department for anything over 95ish watts.

Their DrMos 4+1 boards are fine with X4's, but have a bad rep with X6 thubans.

Their newer 8+2 phase boards are a VAST improvement, and do not seem to have issues with X6's

Most all of their intel motherboards are very high quality.

Don't forget the main word in the title "budget". To be completely honest, this is pretty decent....for a budget. I mean, my computer was built on a budget and it cost less than this, and performs better, but to a person that doesn't know what they are doing and just wants to build a computer, this is fine. Also if you know the right people (geek squad of best buy as an example), they can get you a copy of an OS for cheap, as well a CD/DVD drive. I got both from a friend for 60 bucks :)
