CS:S Event server

I think that it would be cool to use our event server during the day for a minigame/zombie mod server. And then maybe an hour before the event we kick everyone and lock the server up for the EC's to set everything up for later. I plan on drop boxing this idea later, however I was just wondering about everyones opinion on this. It could be a good way to "test our waters" on new servers with out spending anymore money just some time and dedication.

Unfortunately, the event server shares resources with some of our other CS servers. This is why we only use it for events. We do however have events during the day on Saturdays and Sundays hosted by Mobeus and Ollie. Go here for times.

However, your idea for a zombie mod 'event' is a great one in my opinion. I think that would be a lot of fun

Those Ideas need several plugins that would slow the performance of the entire server we host from... Its probably not the best option. Besides we do not fill out current servers consistently like we should.

We had a Zombiemod server before it didn't hold enough interest and was dropped.

Yeah it was dropped but there has been a lot of chatter about bringing it back again with the members... and we could test it by doing events on it and using the event server possibly.

They are loaded on the server but not active until an EC enables the said plugin.
Once those plugins run continuously, they will defiantly drop performance of the box.
it depends how many are active, but your FPS will drop and slow down all servers/maps running on that particular box, which is not public info, I believe.

Yep that is a possibility, I do not mean to speak for Christy, but I will say this,
The EC team has kept that in mind and is constantly thinking of any beneficial changes to improve gameplay, attendance, and recruiting. Not just in events.

Drop box really is the best place for suggestions, your guaranteed that leadership will look at it, and respond.
You already did that, so your original post says... (yes I do fully read posts before I reply)

I trust what they do, because in my very soon to be 2 years with EdgeGamers,
they have always known what was best for us and done it.

They also knew before a server launches, if it will succeed or not.
Like with Inferno and Italy. Both are servers that I HATED to see go.
But they always knew that it was at the benefit of the division.
That is why I trust them...

Anywayss, I certainly would like an event like that, but if it's going to harm our servers.. I don't think it's worth-it. But yeah, as nearly every person above me has said: DROPBOX! They mean the best... most atleast :laugh: , leadership will see it there.
