Hey,

My Laptop has 2 video cards, Intel HD Family thing, and Nvidia GT540M 2GB.
I dont want this HD Family thing on my computer, its a stupid onboard video card imo, and the GT540 is way faster. Does anyone know how to disable this video card so my laptop always uses the GT540?

Thanks,

~Bird.

At first glance, you got toggling graphics. Forget the correct term, but what happens is that when your laptop is running normally, it'll use the Intel HD chipset for graphics (HD Family refers to any of the onboard Intel HD graphics that comes with the motherboard). This makes the laptop run longer as it's using less power for graphics. However, the moment you start up a graphic intensive program (PC Games), the GT540 will turn on and take over for the Intel HD. I wouldn't mess with it as it's not doing anything bad. The only problem with this configuration is if you're running the game, and check dxdiag, it may say it's running the Intel HD graphics, when in fact it's actually running the GT540.

If you really want to disable it, it would mean messing with the software configurations, which I cannot advise you on (nor see any reason why you should). Hope this helps.

Ah alright, I get it now:) Thanks.

:O Another question, which has nothing to do with this subject.
On my laptop i often press Ctrl + Shift on the same time, and its really anoying because... its just annoying. Is there a way to turn this off? (Shift + Ctrl changes a lot of buttons, like : to ? )

:)
