I built a rug back in January and I was wanting to get a 2nd HDD and put the Mac OS on it. But with every Mac that is bought comes an Intel Processor I have an AMD processor. I was wondering if having an AMD processor would affect the Mac OS at all and if it will or won't work. Thanks in advance guys.

Mac OS actually "checks" for a few mac components when installing so without a mac you can't really install the Mac OS X (Unless they changed that in the past year, but about a year ago when I was employed selling mac Hardware / Software a PC couldn't install the OS)

There are a few versions of the mac OS available that people have "modified" to install on a PC... one that comes to mind is "Hackintosh"
Another thing I've seen is a "dongle" you can purchase which plugs into the [USE HEADERS] on your motherboard and fakes the install into believing it is a macintosh (also required everytime you boot to the Mac drive)
This is what I heard when I used to sell Macs and Mac software, this might have changed, but it's unlikely... I'm not too familiar with Lion, my experience was mostly Leopard and Snow Leopard.

I love how an advisor posted this. They are usually the ones that come in here and beat down any hackintosh threads.
That said, running OSX on AMD gear requires much more finagling than Intel. I could post some stuff here, but it will probably get deleted.

Whenever we post quasi illegal stuff, it gets deleted.
Installing OSX on non-apple hardware is breaking their ToS, which is "illegal" in a sense.
This is great news though, does this mean we can talk about removeWAT, movie torrents, and other stuff of that nature now? When did this policy change emerge?

Most likely its a dell mini 9 or 10 netbook for a few months I did iPhone development on a hackintosh dell mini 9, those are intel based.
