Hello thank you for reading this I appreciate the help you guys give. Ok last week i had a problem where i got a blue screen of death where something to do with raw data in hard drive was corrupted or something and i had to do a complete reinstall. So i used my recovery discs and i updated all my windows and video card drivers and all that. Everything was working well for about 3 days until i started lagging really bad in counter strike source. in game i would walk then i would hear a weird freezing sound and everything would freeze. So i thought something was updating in the background so i restarted computer and i logged into my account and it took 30 mins to load everything. The programs kept freezing. And now when anything loads like steam or anything at all the computer slows down and some programs freeze.

So i was wondering if it was my hard drive causing problems or i need more updates.View attachment 4543View attachment 4544

open up Windows Task manager and check if there is a program taking up alll your physical Memory or your Cpu. But it could be something completeley else and then i dont know what to do.

Ghost

There isnt a program taking up more then 1% cpu but my physical memory is always 29% same with my ram.. i dont know if thats the same thing

I am scanning right now but i dont know how i could have gotten a virus but we will see what happens

Hard to tell what those are, too small to see. Which of the 2 is your antivirus? NOD or Trend Micro? I assume one is resident on your PC and the other was an online scan? (You're not running 2 AVs on the computer correct?)

If they look like infections, download MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware and run a full scan with that to help with removal.

If that doesn't show anything, or if the system doesn't run normally after cleaning it, you may still want to check your hard drive.
--If you have the ability to burn ISOs (using Nero or another burning program), I still recommend downloading Hitatchi's Drive Fitness Test to check the drive.

ok i did not install the hard drive thing, i did a complete recovery and i installed nod32 first. then i did updates while installing steam and while installing bad company 2 from steam it popped up with a virus. I got a question since my ram is at 20% or around 20% all the time could it be that one of my sticks (4 x 2gb ddr2) is gone

While bad RAM is always possibility, you'll usually encounter more system instability than it just being slow etc... you'll normally crash or get random blue screens. That being said, I think you should...

Clean the System. Install and run MalWareBytes' Anti-Malware. Then run a full scan with NOD32.

If the system continues having problems, test the hardware. Either memory or hard drive, the order isn't important.

For hard drive testing, Hitachi Drive Fitness bootable CD.
For memory testing, Memtest86+ v4.20. Also Bootable. (There is a Memory diagnostic in the Repair options on Vista / Windows 7, but it isn't as thorough and sometimes misses bad modules.)

I'd disable Automatic Updates by going to Start > Run and typing services.msc
