Honestly, I don't take as a person who is raging, I think of it as a person who is asking a honest question about why Dubstep became so popular, not the most kindest of words but it's to the point.

No need to post a comment on how he is completely wrong and label him "Rager".
On to topic. Um Nik I do believe Screamo is a genre. It comes off of Hardcore, just amping it up.

modulated bass.....that WOB WOB you hear, its been used for years in Rap, but not hip hop. Heard dubstep last year, said whatever and kept on web surfing. More of the same I suppose

Dont get me wrong i can express my opinion about pop songs too.. but pop is pop and its pretty obv why it is popular.

but im talking about dub, i mean all of a sudden it just BLEW up. my fb newsfed is FULL of dub song, and yea i can tell u that i generally dont like techno/electronic music(or w.e. u wanna call it) the only band that i listen to that has some sort of Electronica music is The prodigy, but that is cuz i was raised listening to them.. and they have been around for ages.
and im not saying that dub "sucks" or its "terrible" im just trying to understand it and kinda failing at it..
and im not RAGING. just expressing my personal opinion.

Anyways S@ik you are right to question it's sudden rise in popularity, I think it was because of big names that started using Dubstep that made people like it so much. I'm not going to lie I got into it to because of that. But you know it's not that much of a big deal imo, it's just a music genre getting amped up. Like Rock and Rap. You know, those kinds of music. They all have to start somewhere :]
