So Fable III came out today (YES!). I want to know what everyone thinks of it whether it's first impressions or you stayed up all day, skipped class or took a sick day and played through the whole thing. Try not to give out spoilers for those of us who haven't played much (stupid midterm...) but you can spoil a little bit if you feel it is necessary.

DISCLAIMER: THIS THREAD MAY CONTAIN FABLE III SPOILERS READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Well, I played on the xbox awhile back. I played only a short amount when I realized that you cannot die. Not only that, but I actually had to leave my controller alone on purpose for a minute to just test that. It's just like the second one. Except, if there are any, they don't let you know what penalties there are for being knocked down. Thus, it is ridiculously easy, and not worthy of my time.

Got it as soon as it came out for 360, not worth it for full price. Yes, it was fun and I enjoyed the time I played it. Other than the main story I really didn't care much for other side objectives. In all honesty, wait for a steam sale if you want it for PC.

i love the fable games, but this was my least favorite.

Fable III was alright. I had it on Xbox for awhile beat everything on it. Not worth full price. Not as good as the first. or even the second.

I have to agree. It was a great game for a little while, but it was FAR too easy and not worth the original price. The fact that you auto-aim with the guns was just stupid. LT, fire, LT, fire. Win. Game over.

garbage, complete garbage.
its fable 2 with a few upgrades.
this should of been an add-on for fable 2

I got it for Christmas on the X-Box. I think I got to it on January 18th and only played it a little bit. I didn't finish it.

It is what Fable II should have been. And don't get me wrong, that means fairly fun game play but at the cost of story. You play it and it feels like a game that could have been so much more.

III feels extremely linear to me. Maybe I'll go back and play through it some more though. After all I hated Fable II's story but I have lots of time logged with it because all in all it is a fun time.

i would rather kick my own ass than play fable 3 again. half way through the game i quit because i had already done this before... fable 2... and i didnt really like fable 2 either. everyone loved fable 1 so much, so they said LOL LETS CHANGE IT IN HUGE WAYS = bad

I think that they could have left some aspects in from fable 2 and mixed it up with fable 3. Overall I liked the story, but the game play was just the same. If they ever make a 4th one, I will wait to get it before rushing into it.

It does, in the sense of polarizing waves(judging from this thread). Even my younger brother, who beat Fable 1 and the Lost Chapters each multiple times and beat most of Fable 2 really didn't like the game (Once he got through the first part of the game, anyway)

I did kind of enjoy Fable 1, and slightly less so Fable 2, but at least Fable 2 was hard enough that I was knocked down very many times.

Well... in that case I may pass it up.

P.S.: Modular Combat is fun. Only complaint with that mod is that there are still some unbeatable builds possible, that are only killable if everyone in the server ganks it or abuse some of the other powers.

So it seems like I'll like it more cause I haven't played Fable 2 cause I dont have an xbox. I really enjoyed lost chapters on the pc so this better be a good investment for me.

Well, the thing is I was playing it once before and stopped...
Haven't really seen anyone with an "unbeatable" suit, but I did recently come across a rather hard to beat build, yet kind of comparable to cheesing in Starcraft. He (probably) just poured all his points into health and healing.
And for some reason I always end up with more kills than other people in DM gamemodes. I'm assuming that's not because I'm good. Nor because I planned my guy out well, who only has teleporting, 2 rank plague, 1 rank health, 1 rank aux, and 8 or 9 rank ammo regen.

Continue with discussions of Fable III.
I will say again that the only problem I have (and it weighs in very heavily to me) is that it isn't even remotely difficult.

I enjoyed it more over Fable 2. I didnt think it was a bad as everyone is saying. The story was good. I'd say its worth 30 bucks at most, but not the full 65 dollars i paid for it.

I'm finishing up the first Dragon Age pretty soon then I think I'm going back to this just to get it done you know?

Let's be honest, Peter Molysomething knows how to hype a game and I want to like it so much...I know what I said earlier but I'm just not ready to cast it aside.

Reading about this game, I kinda get the impression that a lot of the rage directed towards Fable III isn't so much 'this is a bad game' - it's more of a 'Peter Molysomething lied about what this game was going to be like' rage.

That's fine, I understand the grief associated with thinking you're buying one thing and actually being served something else; I mean, if I went into a Taco Bell and ordered a Super Supreme Taco and they brought me a Whopper I'd be upset, too.
