With the approval of DoD:S Division leadership, I am proud to announce the first-ever eGO Regional Scrim Tourney! This is a competitive tournament where you'll have the opportunity to represent your state, your nation, and yourself in an epic battle of skill, tactics and teamwork!
Rules:
Rules and format will be based on DCL's competitive rule configuration, with some changes to better fit our use. Here are a few important rules to note:
---Teams will consist of 6 players per side.
---There are weapon restrictions to limit special weapon classes.
---Each team will play as both Axis and Allies on a map, split into two, 20-minute halves.
---The winners of each match will be determined by total cap-outs and "ticks".
---Tournament is double-elimination format.
Maps:
For the first tournament, we're just going to go with stock (CTF-only) DoD:S maps. The maps for each round will be announced when the tournament bracket is released.
Teams:
*Each team will consist of 7-9 players. Though only 6 can play in each match, it's always good to have a spare player or a few spare players in case someone can't make the match.
*One person on each team will be assigned as "Captain"
*Team eligibility: Each player will play for their "home" team. This might be where you were born, where you lived most of your life, or where you live now. Essentially, if you are away at school or on work, you will not be forced to play for a team representing your exact current location. This will be on the honors system, since we can't check where "home" is for you.
*Team "names": Where we can, you will represent your country. If there are enough people from a country to fill multiple teams, we'll break it down to states/provinces/territories/regions. This means that until we see how many people/who signs up, there is no telling who specifically you will represent. Please note, however, that if you are from North Dakota or Finland you won't be stuck on a "Team Minnesota" or "Team Sweden" or anything lame like that. We will make adjustments accordingly.
