I am eagerly awaiting the remake of Final Fantasy VII. That is the only Final Fantasy that anyone should ever be concerned about.
Final Fantasy VII is soooooo overrated its not even funny anymore. Its fun and all, but I personally prefer Final Fantasy VI on the Snes. Fun like the classics, but had the improvements that came with the Snes as well.

Well, there are a few FF's to care about.
I, IV, VI, VII, and maybe some of the ones I haven't played (II, V, VIII, IX, XI, XII)
Honestly, a FFVI remake in the essence of the FFIII and IV remakes would be more amazing to me than a VII remake.

I think FFVII had more commercial success (and a bigger following) because it was released on the PSone; it introduced a new generation to the mechanics of Final Fantasy, had (for that time-frame) next gen graphics, and was one of the biggest hits for an already very popular PlayStation console.
My latest guilty pleasure has been playing through the iOS releases of Final Fantasy on my iPhone. Not as fun as playing them with a traditional controller, but not bad at all. FFIII is the most expensive app I've bought so far, but it's been fun playing it.
Overrated? Hardly. I have every Final Fantasy version released to the United States for every system. Final Fantasy VII is the only one that I can go back to and play all over again and actually like playing.
