Css lagg

Every time i play css for about 10 mintues its starts lagging really bad for about 7 mintues its good and then bad?I just want to know why am i lagging in css before i never lagg know i do all the time

1. overheating
2. too high settings

I also have an anoying lag problem. JUst today I decided to fix my abusive choke and in turn gave my self massive lag spikes whenever I turn. My ping doesn't change but my FPS tanks from 200fps to about 20 or 30fps. So 2 questions. 1. Is there anyway to fix this or 2. is there any way to reset the stats i changed so I can start from scratch.
Specs are:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD Phenom9tm0 IIX4 955 Processor @3.20GHz
4.00 GB Ram
ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series

EDIT: Ok Reinstalled the game and that fixed some my random lag, but now I have 60 choke again....

This was happening in WoW for a while. Clean your computer (Like physically clean it. It is probably dirty and causing it to over heat.) If not your settings are probably to high.

Try this: http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html - it is called "Game Booster" and it basically stops everything that is not important when you are gaming.

interesting I'll try it out. i know its not the settings because I just got this PC and can run SC2 at all ultra settings and have Crysis running at 30fps constant at high settings
