I have been looking around for a new keyboard and I thinking about getting one of the models that features an LCD screen on it.

Can anyone recommend any of these keyboards?

No, not worth paying for basically a 5$ keyboard slapped with a LCD and lights marketed at 100$. Get a mechanical keyboard or just buy a normal keyboard, the LCD is pretty gimmicky.

What CC said. The LCD screen isn't worth it. They take an inferior keyboard, slap a cheap screen on it, and way overcharge for it.

Have you considered a simple, illuminated keyboard? This one is pretty popular: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823109191&Tpk=x4

Microsoft X4. Small footprint, illuminated, macro functionality, best anti-ghosting you can get. At only $52, it's a good choice for the features at a smallish price.

Obviously, if you have the money, go nuts and get a nice illuminated mechanical. They're expensive, but people swear by them.

Well, the Logitech G19 has a LCD screen but, it is way overpriced in my opinion. If you are just looking for the functionality a screen would provide I suggest a G15 or even a G13 as they are more reasonably priced.

I like the LCD on my G15.

Since i already use all three monitors for games (eyefinity) I use the gamepanel for CPU temps, game stats, etc.

The keyboard is certainly better than your generic $5 board.

The back lighting itself is probably worth more than $5

I got my G15 for about $50 so i think it was a pretty good buy.

if u want just a key board that lights up and want some macro the g11 is a very nice board.

Well, yeah they're aren't truly 5$, it was exaggeration but it is still rubber domes in the end, just higher quality. The LCD screen is truly only useful to certain people. They slap on a bunch of extra stuff that really shouldn't jack the price up that much, I haven't really seen anyone make full use of macro keys for anything.

I was just telling him to not overspend, either go for a non-illuminated mechanical keyboard (~80-120$), or a justly priced illuminated rubber dome keyboard (ie. ducttapes suggestion 40-70$).

I have the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 and I love it. Great keyboard for the price!

Yeah... I got the g510 and its overpriced... Now dont get me wrong, i like the keyboard and its features, but i mean $130 for a keyboard.

My G15 saved my video cards life.

I was playing COD 4 the other day and had no idea that I had turned off the auto fan feature on EVGA Precision. So about 20 minutes into the game I look down and see my GPU temp at 103c with the fan at 30%. It would have auto shut down at 105c, but probably not without damage.

So constantly monitoring temps and the Ventrilo features are the most used things for me.

I bought this keyboard about a month ago.

Took awhile to get use to the gaming key layout, but once I did, I REALLY liked it.

After looking over all the keyboards you guys recommended, I decided to go with the G15.
