If there are no admins, who becomes one, a =(e)=TM =(eG)=TM or some random person

Do you mean if there are no admins in the server or the clan?

There should always be an admin.

Promotions are based on when the leaders decide. If you are going to be promoted to an admin it is an e to eG. To become a full admin the promotion is eG to eGO.

Promotions & You

Skill level has nothing to do with promotions. EdgeGamers promotes on the basis of a member's maturity. We would rather have someone who can barely play, is a lot of fun, and carries with them a sense of integrity, than someone who is PWNTASTIC and acts immaturely.

Getting promoted to =(eG)=™, =(eGO)=™ or Leadership has nothing to do with your time in the community. It is the effort you put into the servers and the contributions you make to the clan that are factored into all promotions.

Other aspects we look at include:

1. Your playing time in the servers and love of the game.

2. Your maturity and ability to make the correct decisions in the servers. (Are you ready to switch sides when needed, or do you instead just say, "TEAMS"?)

3. Your forum activity - Do you contribute to the clan outside of playing the game? (Some members are promoted only on server time and not on forum activity. People are rarely promoted based on forum activity alone.)

4. Location - We might promote members who live in time zones outside of the USA quicker since we need admin coverage during all hours.

5. Donations and Dedicated Supporter status do not guarantee a promotion, but they do get you noticed.

6. Get in Ventrilo. That's where friends are made.

Leadership is always watching to see who is ready, but the best way NOT to get promoted is by ASKING FOR A PROMOTION. Just play and have fun.

EdgeGamers Rank Structure

All =(eG)=™ and =(eGO)=™ members have server admin responsibilities. =(eG)=™ members are considered "admins-in-training" while =(eGO)=™ members are senior admins. Each higher level of clan membership has greater server admin responsibility.

=(e)=™ members do not have server admin abilities. Remember, at the this level, you are NOT an admin, so don't try to be. To learn how, let =(eG)=™ or (eGO)=™ members handle issues on the server and watch how they admin.

Some =(eGO)=™ members are Advisors, Division Leaders, Council, or Community Managers. They comprise the leadership of EdgeGamers. Please review the leadership roster for a list of these members.

I think he means if there are no admins in the server, who becomes in charge?

If that is the case and someone is disrupting the server, then you can hop onto Ventrilo where there are usually admins available to assist you. Just be like "Hey, I need an admin on ____, can you come help me?"

If you have a problem on the server, hop on ventrillo or befriend an eGO member on steam and talk to them. If you're having a problem, and you can't find an admin, get a condump of the issue, get on the forums, and post a ban request in the forums. At the very least, leadership will take a look at the incident and we'll keep an eye on said perp.

Perhaps a little clarification of responsibility is in order.

On our servers people who have been entrusted with the rank of eGO are administrators. They have the responsibility of making the server run smoothly and dealing with infractions.

People of eG rank are also administrators but should consult with an eGO on the server before taking administrative action by using Admin Chat. Think of it as on the job training. Their administrative actions are how they get experience and demonstrate that they are ready for eGO rank. They do not have the ability to ban someone but they may place a ban request on a miscreant. Note: even a ban that is placed by an eGO is subject to review and can be appealed.

Members of e rank are responsible for setting a good example. They should request steam friendship with eGOs and eGs that they find play at the same time that they are on. In the event of someone disrupting the server when there are no egs or eGOs present they should try to contact an eG or eGO either through their steam friends network or on ventrilo or even by posting in the shoutbox on the forums.

Please remember that anyone on the server is entitled to politely ask someone who is not in step with our rules to alter their behavior. This should be done in a friendly manner, not as a rule nazi. e's should note that if there is an eG or eGO on the server they should wait a while to see if they will handle the issue and, if not, contact them using admin chat to handle the problem
To send a message to the admins you open up teamchat (Default: "u" key) and start your message with an @ symbol.

It would look like this:
u@[TEXT]

The best thing for an e to do on our servers is to be friendly, follow our rules and watch how the admins handle awkward situations. One day someone will ask an e to step up and add a G to their tag and that is the best way to be ready for it.

I'm going to close this thread to prevent the inevitable post stacking. As all the others have said, if there is not a admin in the server and try and contact admins on the website, Ventrilo, IRC, or Steam friends. However, when admins are in the server, e's should leave the admining to the admins.

Thread Locked.
