BATTLE RESULTS
Battle #2 Results:
Round 1: The 3rd SS Division attacks the Netherlands from France on dod_beaumont.
Axis forces, intent on seizing another valuable northern territory, emptied their French barracks to storm towards the small town of Beaumont to their north-east. In the ensuing battle, both sides found themselves engaging stingy defensive perimeters that gave no ground to the aggressor. The fight developed into a defensive stalemate, and the Axis forces withdrew their attack on the town.
Seizing whatever semblance of momentum they could, Allied forces pursued the German aggressors across the French border and attacked at a much larger town the Axis had rallied within. Both sides inflicted massive casualties, however it was Axis number superiority in the end that proved too much for the Allied forces to overcome.
Round 2: 30th Infantry Division attacks Italy from North Africa on dod_ingot.
As part of a larger regional operation, Allied leadership committed ground and air forces to assault a small town in the heart of Italy. The town was already torn by war, the tattered ruins of beautiful architecture and scenery paint the backdrop for a furious battle. The Axis found great success maneuvering early against Allied defenders, but the invading forces rallied in each case. Successfully, U.S. forces blitzed a weak pocket of the German line near a downed C-47. Overwhelmed, German defenders could not repel the attack. The Germans were forced to rout and the Allies have taken control of their first territory in the war, Italy!
