Dad upgraded router, now it wont work

So my dad decided to upgrade our Router Firmware, and now it doesnt work. I dont have any idea were to start, so im hoping you guys can help me

I know. my dad was kinda stupid. when I get home I will post the make and model

If its the problem I think it is, its a communication problem between your modem, router, and computer. You can contact your ISP and they will run you through the steps to reset your modem for use with a new router. It has been a while since I've done it so I don't remember all the steps otherwise I would tell you..

In situations like that just reset the router and start through the set up wizard. Works every time for me. Sometimes it needs that to get properly set up with the modem.
