Ok here is a song that I did a guest appearence on. The lead singer is a good friend of mine who is about to move out of state and he wanted me in the song since I have such a deep singing voice. I say "Welcome the Apocalypse!"

New Metal is so bleh guitar wise. Closest thing to metal Id listen to nowadays would be melodic metalcore, because you can actually hear the guitars well. most heavy/death metal bands just do alot of palm muting downstrokes, and thats rather lame. Classic Metal > Modern Metal. 9/10th of the newer bands dont even have solos, and if they do they just play easy blues scales with extreme distortion. No skill whatsoever =P
Neo Classical Metal is good Though, just because I can play that at a concert and everyone will love it.

I do agree that some of the newer stuff is pretty bland. But there are a few out there who are still quite good. I liked JFAC's EP, but then they just went down hill from there. Severe Torture put out some good stuff lately as well.
