Not really a comic book fan anymore, but I love love love the books by Orson Scott Card, and now they are in comic book form!

Bringing my favorite works of literature to life with pictures from the mind of Stan Lee? Yes please!

I have recently picked up a copy of a couple of issues of this, but would love to have the Sketch Variant of issue #1 of Ender's Game Battle School. Anyone know where I can find one for under $50?

Anyone else interested in these?
 
What???? How could they DO something like that??

Putting something like that to comic books is just wrong. People should read the entire story, not some picture book thing

I have to sort of agree with this. If you're going to enjoy a story, try to enjoy it on the medium that it was envisioned for and not some second rate adaptation.

Though it looks like you're already familiar with the material...so let try and track it down.

hmm...they're going on ebay for $1-$5 per issue...and that the second place I checked.
 
Ender's game and Speaker for the Dead are two of my favorite books. I will never pick them up in comic book form. I feel as though it would just kill the nostalgia for me.

Sorry there buddy, but I have been a fan of this series of books since Ender's Game was first released and have read all eight of the books numerous times. Now I have also ready First Meetings, and Ender in Exile as well.

These are BY FAR some second rate adaptation. These were done by Stan Lee along with Orson Scott Card, They go EXACTLY with the text from the book, everything said by the characters in the book are said by the characters in the Comic. This is simply putting pictures that have already been envisioned in your head with the story.

And I am not looking for the Day to day issues, I am looking for the hard to find SKETCH VARIANT of Issue #1 of Ender's Game!

Dragon D these ARE the entire story. The only difference is instead reading the labored efforts of the narrator trying to describe the surroundings and movements of the characters you SEE all of that in the picture, the characters are still word for wording the dialog they carry on in the books!!!

I meant nothing by what I said, I was just speaking from experience with adaptations in general. Heck I'm not even familiar with the material.
 
Wound up getting my issue 1 scetch variant from mycomicshop.com for 6 bucks! mile high comics $118 whatever! ebay $50 forget it!
 
aaaah Ender's Game takes me back to elementary school. Had to read that book for English class. Loved the book, finished it in a few days, didn't do the work though, failed that portion.
 
LOL. Yeah sniper! I got turned onto it in elementary too. What like 16 years ago at least!

Still searching for a copy of the Variant Issue of Ender's Shadow Battle School #1. The one with the IF sheild on the cover, not bean.
 
When I got the comics I didnt even read the text (Because like Shepard said, its the exact same) I just loved looking over the pictures and putting faces to names. Its fun to do if you've read the books.
