Pulled from Steam Forums.
Hi all,
As per a forum suggestion we're creating this thread to let you know what we're currently working on and what's just around the corner for Dino D-Day.
Content Updates:
T-Rex Update - we plan on this being ready at the end of June. This will include a new map that is custom built to include a playable T-Rex (similar in concept to the Styracosaur map)
New Dinosaur Update - After the T-Rex Update we will focus on finishing up work on two new playable dinosaurs (playable in all maps). Details regarding these dinosaurs will be forthcoming.
Survival Mode - Once the previous updates are shipped we'll focus on shipping a Survival Mode. The date for this is fuzzy though we should have a better idea once these other updates ship.
Things we want to do in the future:
Singleplayer Campaign - Many are interested in this, including us.
Other Updates:
Ship an SDK - We are currently working out the details on this with Valve and will ship it as soon as its ready.
Linux Dedicated Servers - We are working on this with Valve as well. No specific date to announce yet but we know people are very keen on this.
Sales and Promotions:
May 31 - Dino D-Day is scheduled to be the Steam "Daily Deal" and will be 50% off.
Late June - Free Weekend coinciding with T-Rex Update. The game will be on sale through the weekend as well.
Thanks for playing everyone. Hopefully this gives you a better idea of what we're working on. We realize that player count is currently very low and that this is very frustrating. The sales and promotions will help this of course in the short term.
In the long term though, as we ship new updates and game modes, we hope the appeal of Dino D-Day can be broadened. With Dino D-Day we've (perhaps unwisely!) put a game out that directly competes with far bigger games, with far bigger staffs and far bigger marketing budgets.
Success for Dino D-Day was always going to be a long-term effort and we're committed to that. As long as we can pay rent and keep food on the table we'll keep sending out patches, keep working on bigger updates, and keep trying to establish a bigger, more stable community!
