Public FTP server on a windows 2008 R2 server

Hello

Yes i'm back with my FTP servers lol. So i want to host this public FTP server. I Have a windows 2008 R2 server on a VMware machine, wich later, will probably be hosted on a dedicated server. Can anyone help me on how to do this?

things to note:
- The server is behind a router
- The Server has a STATIC INTERNAL ip adres. Wich means it's static in the network i'm in right now. I have no clue if the internal IP adres is static that my public IP will be static too.
- It has to be secure. I don't want to be hacked because of this.
- It has to give access to annonymous users.
- Usergroups so i can add users, remove them, give them rights, ...

I have no knowledge about these servers so be prepared for alot of questions. Thanks guys!

I would go ahead and install Filezilla Server and use that for your FTP server.

If you are using a router to NAT the internal IP address to your public IP address, then you will need to set up the server accordingly to do that. Normally, it's a transparent process as long as you have both ports 20 and 21 open in your firewall.

I can help you setup FileZilla Server if you would like, and it's pretty simple to use once it's in place.
