6th of june 1944!

One of the best, albeit terrifying, opening scenes in a war movie. I still wonder how people made it off that beach. Thank God Hitler did not send Rommel reinforcements to Normandy.

"Where is your BAR?"
"She is laying at the bottom of the channel, * tried to drown me."

One of my favorite lines in that movie.

Imagine... before boot camp, a lot of those guys held ordinary peace-time jobs, etc.
All of a sudden, they're on the beaches of Normandy storming against a battle ready enemy with years of experience.
Getting hit with bullets, shrapnel, other debris... you begin to wonder what you're doing there, if it's going to make a difference, if the cause is worth it, or if you'll ever see your family again.

Normandy 1944.

p.s.
I think I saw Boyle and Stormy on those mg42s O.o

Lost 4 of my great grandparents to that beach...
Tough but it needed to be done.

Here's a clip from band of Brothers (also known as Saving private Ryan: The Series)

Stormy, that German perspective video you put up was insane. The German propaganda machine was in full effect for that production...lol

The Greatest Gamble of the War

and we should thank those families that have sacrificed their loved ones during this dangerous operation, turning the tide in favor of the free world as we know it today.
