Petition for more admins on the Hardcore Rush server

When I play BC2 I almost exclusively play hardcore rush, so of course I play on the EGO server. Normally, it's great; the admins are reliable and consistent, the MG36 dot works and there's never any rubber banding or unzooming issues.

But just yesterday, I was on the server and there were no admins for a good chunk of time. While I can understand if it was 1 am on a Tuesday, it was only 5 or 6 pm on Sunday. In that time there were a few afks, the chat rules went completely out the window, and the out-of-bounds areas were used without penalty.

I don't know if there's a schedule for admins that got screwed up or what, but a few more throughout the day or even an auto-admin system would be just dandy.

I'm scheduled for admin training this week (I just switched divisions) so I'll be around in the evenings more often, hopefully.

If there's ever any issue you might could just contact one of the admins on Steam and/or Vent for help.

What Believer said is correct. Having some admins on your steam friends list and being in vent are great ways to contact admins when you need help in a server.

Also there is no schedule but our own schedule. This isn't our job. We play to have fun and when something comes up then we deal with it. We don't go into servers to admin, we go there to play so if there are no admins on there are no admins on and it's no one's fault. It just happens sometimes.

Our servers are very popular with pubstars and the vast majority of our admins don't have reserved slots, so it's not uncommon to see few admins at certain times..

Like the Belieber up there said, if you need help, just hop into Vent and grab an admin there.

I've played on many other clans servers and eGO has the most admining actually done.

I cannot tell you how many times I've tried hopping around ventrillo trying to find an admin to hop into a server (keep in mind it wasn't full) to kick someone since I had already warned them. I cannot begin to describe how frustrating it is for an O to not be able to take action (while I wait for my admin training to happen for BC2) so while I sit here waiting I get to be harassed by pubbers while admins go in groups to play in other servers. Top of that I love when I see two admins on the server that take no action while I'm warning players. I don't even have my admin set up! That's probably why I hear so man pubbers talking about how eGO BC2 servers are horrible.

Oh.. hmm.. I've had O admin for a long time before I started BC2, so I never had to go find an admin.. but..

Have you read and posted in this thread?

And I guess it is a little harder to persuade in-game BC2 admins to hop servers since achievements are stuff aren't shown on a nice screen if you leave halfway through the round.. not to mention it takes forever to exit and join another server, then hop back to original server.

These "myths", as you call them, are the manner in which our division has decided to operate in order to keep things running the best they possibly can.


Sorry to hear that this is how you feel, but I think you're sorely mistaken.

• Admins have no obligation to stop what they are doing to hop ingame and help out; as it has been said, they are a part of the community to have fun first. If they are currently on the server, then they should pitch in to keep the servers clean. There are some times when I'm co-oping a game with friends and I simply have to ask people to try to find someone else to help. If you're having a problem in a server, need help, and I'm around...I'll almost always willing to drop what I'm doing to help out. BC2 division doesn't have the high number of leadership members like some other divisions have, but you'll almost always find one of us around on Vent. On top of that, I could list at least two dozen O's that would drop everything they were doing to help take care of an issue on the servers, and they do this every day.
• Occasionally, admins miss something ingame and don't take action. If you are on Ventrilo with them, you can point out what happened so they can take action.
• There are other O's that haven't bothered to request training and thus are unable to admin. You're saying how frustrated you are that you can't do anything and that you're waiting for training, yet you requested admin training twelve hours ago. Li'l Shortstuf will be posting on your admin training request to set up a time.
• I'm honestly offended that you make a statement saying that "so many pubbers talk about how eGO BC2 servers are horrible". The vast, vast, vast majority of our pubbers would say that our servers are the only servers they play on or by far one of their favorites. The people who complain are the ones with total disregard for our rules and our community.

So I'm sorry that you feel this way, but I think your opinions are very misguided. If you have a concern that you would like to bring up, feel free to speak to a BC2 leadership member on Ventrilo. The dropbox/private conversation is a more appropriate place to bring up your concerns.



Also Sammy, remember that as an =(e)=, if something is going on and the admins miss it or there are no admins on, feel free to warn the player/s. If it continues, try to find an admin on Vent or Steam!
