Microsoft Press Conference Comments

Ooh. The avatar creator is pretty impressive that it can be that painless and easy to do... Wonder if it would also reflect body type (Slender, Athletic, Average, Overweight, etc.) Some gamers will NOT be happy if it does..

@Raxious This part of it, maybe. But the beginning was pretty good. Just remember, the games aren't going to be just tailored for you. Be thankful they're not like the older ones, where MS (and other companies) would boringly recount sales figures, number of titles, acquisitions, etc. Almost treated it like a stockholders' meeting.

Edit: Her body posture sucked for golfing. No wonder she's in the rough..

Things I love: Minecraft 360 Halo 1 Remake, Lara Croft, Ryse, Fable Journey (basically a kinect spinoff of fable), Ghost Recon (OMG GHOST RECON)

Not Impressed: Any of the "casual" kinect games, MW3, Gears 3, new xbox GUI.

Other: I'd rather have double fine making a sesame street game than anyone else, yet it pissed me off that activision had them work on this crud instead of brutal legend 2.

Hey, I remember this guy. He introduced Dance Central for the Kinect at last year's conference... How fitting he's doing DC2

Edit: I'm liking the light show. This game is one of the primary reasons why I would buy a Kinect... But I'll add Tom Clancy's game to that as well... :D

I think they need to end the show with a couple hardcore games or this will be remembered as another casual gamer focused PC.

New Trilogy, what eez theez?

HALO 4!!!!!

Oh those damn teasers! Winter 2012?! A year and a half to wait...

That was probably the worst conference ever. Force kinect into everything making it a flail your arms on the rail shooter or minigame collection.

OH! and you get gears of war and another halo...

fun.

....but it won't be developed by Bungie. Honestly I was only excited about MW3, Tomb Raider, and the new Ghost Recon so far. I'm not a casual gamer, so the middle and end parts were kind of a turn off.

I'm moderately excited about the Halo 1 remake (It's a classic. I LOVED it back on PC forever ago, ahaha.)

343 is headed up by frank o connal and former bungie employees, so basically its more "bungie" than halo reach.

@ Cut Chemist I hear that statement so often about these Conferences, it's getting old.

Plus: Kinect is getting a lot more games, not just casual, but also to the hardcore gaming crowd. It's also being utilized more to make the 360 an entertainment device, utilizing the Zune interface, making it compete better against the PS3.

Negatives: Not many casual games for BOTH adults and children. Most of them appear to be tailored for kids, but that's fine with me. We were all kids once and we need games that are made for us, and not rated Teen. Disneyland and Sesame Street are great for those between 4-8.

For better or worse, MS is making a concentrated push for everyone to jump onto the Kinect. That would also explain their decision to send a free 360 for any purchase over $800 of any Windows PC/laptop. Easier to afford buying the Kinect if you don't have to buy the 360 in the first place.

@Rukus I already beat ya to it.
