On this day 67 years ago, many lives were lost. This day is the 67th Anniversary of D-Day. For those of you who don't know, D-day was a day where the Americans started in the war. Many lives were lost on both sides, and I think we should take a moment of silence for both sides who lost there life on this day on the beaches and also the airborn.
Allies:
Americans: 1st Inf., 4th Inf., 29th Inf., 2nd Ranger Bttn.
British: 3rd Inf., 8th Inf., 22nd Inf., 50th Inf.
Canadian: 3rd Inf., 2nd Armored
And the paratropers:
U.S. 82d and 101st Airborne divisions, the British 6th Airborne Division, the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion.
Axis:
91st, 709th, 914th, 352nd, 6th Para, 726th, 915th, 736th, 11th Panzer, 711th.
The Omaha beach was well protected and some drowned before they got there.
There was a speaker on the intercom to-day at my school, talked about all of this and I would like to share it with you all. As I said, many lost their lives on both sides including my grandfather, this is why this day is so sad for me, I never got to meet him. I was told he died protecting his friend. Lets take a moment of silence for both sides they were just doing there jobs.
The reason its in the DoD:S division, cause the game is WW II involved, so you guys would know this best.
Thank you Wikipedia and Answers.com for all of facts on the regiments and divisions
