Technology on a whole new level.

when she got into the car and it had "Hello Jennifer" on the screen

my only thought was

howd it know?

Thats all nice and all but I really don't see this happening anytime soon, especially not within the next 20 years.

The touchscreens outside would just get vandalised.

Yea if I saw those in the street, they are definitely coming home with me. But it's still a cool video.

Maybe that technology will exist in a few more years!
You guys DO know all this stuff already exists but it is very, very expensive....? However I do not see how he set his phone (with a built in camera) and transfered the video chat to the table which did not have a built in camera. Its just a matter of price.

Also, I've seen touch screens outside. They always have a camera pointed at them. You see them on RedBox video rental kiosks.

It's Microsoft Surface on almost everything, rather than a table? Sounds like a cool idea. Not happening any time soon.

Not happening any time soon? Ehhhh, I disagree. If technology continues to advance at the rate it is now, this may not be that far off. As said above, it seems like Microsoft surface. Hey, you never know what the future of technology holds. I think it's mainly the price that is holding back some of the development of these kind of things. I'm looking forward to what the future holds.

I reallly can't wait for something like this to happen hopefully in my lifetime!

I give it 10 years. Like I said all of it is already available, but only to those that can afford the large sum. It'll be cheap when it becomes common.

We are far behind in technology really...we still have a long way to go, it's gonna be longer then 10 years

All of it is not already available... microsoft surface does not randomly turn a pane of glass into a camera that you can move around. Also, those phones were not possible, because they had no power supply. Something easily broken like glass would be vandalized instantly. This will not happen within 30 years.

The table was the only thing I haven't seen before, and isn't possible even with conceptual phase technology of today. You can't record an image without a lense, that's just how all transmitted light works, you could go forward a thousand years and people will still use lenses. If you'd read my posts you'd see I already said this. Its star wars technology, meaning technology that works without accounting for logic or the laws of physics.

The two white bars framing the phone could be the power supply.

Depends on your definition of "soon." I was actually thinking maybe in around 20-25 years this could happen.
