So You Say You Want Another BC2 Server...

So the buzz in this division before E3 got us all hyped up on Battlefield 3 was about the BC2 division wanting to get another server. Well there are some things that are gonna need to change before we can get another server and they all focus around Phu Bai and Mixed.

The problem is not with the servers. The problem is with lack of support from the division. I have seen these servers keep themselves up through the night on their own. At the time of the last clan-wide meeting Mixed was ranked 22nd and within the last month Phu Bai was ranked 77th. Bad servers do not get ranked that high. They just need a little help from us. We need to get these servers full, well run, and populated by members from the division.

1. One way is if you see one of our servers with a small population when you log into the game then join that server. Even if it isn't your favorite servers, spending some time on that server to help get it full really helps us out. Once the server is full feel free to go to your favorite server.
   *Just a small note: if there are a lot of you who want to play Rush and you are filling Mixed don't all 10 of you leave for Rush at once. That kills the server as fast as it was started*
2. Another way is to be in the eGO BC2 steam group. You can join the group here. The Steam group keeps you in the loop with the announcements and events of the division. This includes what servers need filling. If you see a Steam announcement or event about filling a server then please respond and spend the 15-30 minutes to help out. If you are already in game and you are squading up with friends we understand if yo don't want to leave but if you are just facebook stalking or trolling the forums then please help out.
3. Third is recruiting. If you don't like a server the best way to make sure you never have to fill it again is for you to bring in recruits who enjoy that server. Get people in vent so they can work together with you and see that we have a lot of fun.
4. Finally and probably the part that makes me the saddest is that we need to show more respect for our servers. I have noticed a recent trend that people have been calling the Rush server the "Man server" and have been calling the Mixed server or really any other server the "Woman server." This has to stop. Not only does this name calling show disrespect to the server and division but it is also borderline sexist and we DO NOT tolerate sexism of any kind. If we do not show respect for our server then why do we even have it? Also if we don't respect our servers then how does that make new recruits or pubs feel when they hear that? Keep that in mind the next time you go to call a server anything but its name.

If the servers don't get filled and people don't stop disrespecting servers then what makes you think that our division deserves a new server? I really want us to get a new server but when leadership sees a lack of dedication to the servers then it doesn't bode well for us getting a new server. So let's get the servers full and recruit some of the regulars from Mixed and Phu Bai and even Heavy Metal so that we always have members in those servers and have a dedicated group to help fill those servers.

Also, 4 BC2 Servers are perfectly fine as of right now. I don't think it's that we can't have another it's more along the lines can we afford another server. Anyone can beg and plead all they wan't for another server but what it really comes down to is money. Without it we can't get anything done. So for all those that have not done so. Please click on the "Become a Supporter" button or on my link.

So for all those complaining or requesting another server. I'd suggest put your money where your mouth is and help us get a server. Remember you will not be thought of differently if you choose not to. It is your choice and your choice alone, but if you are going to continue being part of eGO I would hope you all will help.

This. The current map Phu Bai promotes way too much spawn camping. Due to the recent Competition it has come to light more clearly. Every night the teams will become one sided which results in spawn camping. Sure we can kick the spawn campers but it hardly helps the situation much. Around 12am becomes the time when people will not usually log on but also the people who are on will not usually log off until they start loosing (being spawn camped) It is quite frustrating when the server dies at the same time for the same reason every night.:facewall::facewall:

Re: the comments about Phu Bai etc.

The place for these comments is the drop box. If you've already drop boxed your idea, furthering commentary on the issue in order to press your agenda only hassles leadership.

I have been conducting research into popular servers, what makes them work: what rotations and setup they have. To make a server with a successful rotation does not happen on whim choice of maps and settings, and before we consider any changes to any of our servers, all of which are holding steady or increasing in rank, we have to weigh the risk.

Your drop boxes have been noted, replied to, and have asked for all of your patience while we conduct the research necessary to ensure our success.

This statement is not a guarantee that Phu Bai is going to change. We've had great success with it for it's duration. I'm simply stating that I am undertaking research into different options as well, as requested by you people.

I know this statement is something you are used to getting, and it can be frustrating. To bring you up to speed on my research, all 2 map rotations, Vietnam or otherwise, are failing miserably. The majority of these are in the 2,000 and lower rankings and dropping. That is not a viable option for us, in my opinion. What has been successful are single map 24/7's like we have with Phu Bai, and full Vietnam rotations. I have been playing in some of these other servers to find exactly what settings, rotations, and game modes they are playing to see what players like and don't like. At this point, the options I am weighing are to keep Phu Bai. Turn it to Op. Hastings. Or run a full Vietnam server. Research is STILL ONGOING.

The biggest issue is that even if said in jest it can still give a bad feeling to those who hear it. Honestly if the Mixed server were my favorite and I didn't like the Rush server and heard my favorite server being called the "Woman Server" while the Rush server was called the "Man Server" that wouldn't make me feel welcome to be in that vent channel. Also if I were a woman and I heard that I wouldn't be too happy either. There is just not point to calling the servers by such nicknames.

I play Regular Conquest; it's the mode and gameplay I've always played in the Battlefield series. It's always been my impression that most people in eGO prefer Hardcore. Over time, eGO members slowly dwindled out of regular conquest, until I was usually the only one in there during peak hours.

Hardcore ain't my thing tooooo.
