I have been battling to play this game for months on Windows 7. Constantly switching to the other hard drive to play on XP. I have finally overcome it. Solution: New motherboard and 8GB of DDR3. Not one glitch or white screen in a week now. I have read and tried every forum idea I had the patience to read. Free of XP at last.
 
Sounds like a good deal to me! Also sounds like you are almost ready for BATTLEFIELD THREE!!!!!!!!!
 
Hit me up sometime if you want! I have some really sweet tricks for Win 7. Nifty tools and utilities & VBS scripts too.

Just for instance, if you have a low-capacity primary HDD(OS partition) you can run the following command at the Run screen...
powercfg.exe /hibernate off

That command clears up your unused hibernate buffer from 8-16GB of actual HDD space, depending on how much actual RAM you have it can vary. This is especially helpful for folks running Windows 7 on an SSD with limited write-ops.
(This is assuming you never use hibernate, rather only standby or shutdown)
 
I hear ya bro! W7 here with 8GB RAM in my new system, too. My PC used to choke on BC2, but now it's smooth sailin.
 
Just ordered myself a new mobo, cpu and 8GB ram. End of the month is a new 6950 vidcard. That should get me to the middle of next year for ivy bridge :) been running 2 gb ram on a Q9550. It gets me there but it is not a barn burner lol
 
I kept the XP hard drive tied in just so I wouldnt have to transfer all of the files. Pics, MS Office, etc. I thought I would keep my W7 drive as uncluttered as I could. I was glad I did. I could play for maybe 5 minutes on W7 and then the flashing, lockup, and boot to desktop.
My motherboard is ready for the AMD 8 core when it comes around now. I went to Fryes just to get RAM and the DDR2 was double DDR3 so I just figured why not and replaced them both. I put in a Corsair HD50 liquid cool on the processor so we will see it does on my temps.
I think a better case is next. More airflow.
 
Here's what I use for a case... Airflow is soo good i cant sit barefoot next to the PC anymore Comes stock with 6 fans. And it's very pretty at night!

-Bottom mounted PSU
-Easy to clean grates
-Huge side panel fan gives significant cooling effect.
-Heavily overclocked CPU & GFX & RAM all at:
40*c - Idle
56*c - Watching Blu-ray/DVD
60*c - Encoding Bluray vidoes
62*c - Playing BC2 on three screens using Eyefinity.

You might be better off now though with the H50, i was considering going that route for the proc... I'm not a huge fan of canned coolant systems though. I like flexibility
