I do not like it when i am a sniper and people on my team follow me around and hover around me just to get my rifle when i die. Im sure this happens a lot. what do you guys think about it? i think its annoying. Then they just say im watching the stairs for you, but i know thats not really the case. Just saying.. Raoul Duke

Raoul, I deal with this as well. There's really nothing you can do if some one is hanging on the stairs... except to listen for if they get gunned down, and be prepared.

What I hate more is having some one block me in the dark room at field, so I can't run when I see Francis or Luke with a rocket. If it's done repeatedly, even after I remind them NOT to block their team, I will kick them out.

Keep in mind, you DO want some one watching your back in the sniper houses. If they are getting in your way, blocking you on stairs, or flashlighting you so that the enemy sees and kills you... Then tell an admin. Those things are not allowed. That's harassment on the servers.

Other than that, if they're just picking up your gun when you die, let them. You and I have both scrounged for sniper rifles in field and in the sniper house, so we can't complain. Once a player is dead, his gun is up for grabs. We can't "help" our team mates die intentionally, so if that's the case, report it to an in game admin. If you want to talk JUST to admin, then type u @ "message" . Or whatever your button is for team chat. That will send a message to the admins in game.

Good luck, Raoul. Now quit your whining, go back into Donner, and kill those germans! ;) I'll see you in there later tonight.

Eh, normally those are called baiters, and thats one of the many forms they take. They usually hang around you, out of sight, and wait for you to die, and then they kill the guy who killed you.

I don't think we should call those baiters. There're also other who decide to stay and watch your back if you're sniper. I believe that as long as they don't disrupt game play, that's fine. It's not like we pick on a person who block rocket one time by mistake do we.

Yeah, it's realy irritable.. Still, not all does it just to get the riffle, some realy just wanna watch your bag

its okay because to me this is not something very serious, there is nothing really at stake you know what i mean. Just a friendly pub game where people come to have fun

I almost always try to help out the axis snipers that like to hang out in the axis sniper house in donner. By watching their backs from allied assaults who so love to punch them in the back of the head.

I would think, especially during a scrim or a well disciplined game, you'd always want snipers and machine gunners firing. The perfect sniper and machine gunner team would always consist of a backup, most likely support, purposely to pickup that gun when dropped and continue firing. There are a lot of sniper/mg nests that are crucial to clear before making an advance, most of them are also vulnerable from the rear.

I would say as long as someones intention was to protect you, and secondary was to pick up the gun when you died that'd be ok. It's actually a blessing to have someone watching your back. You just have to listen well and read the names of deaths out of the corner of your eye. You see them drop... you know to watch your own back.

Intentionally letting you die, especially by blocking you ... yea that's disrupting the game. I wish there were more fanatical teammates, once every couple days or so I'll end up on a team with a bunch of crazed eGO people cheerleading and chattering about every single thing (completely game related) in an effort to encourage teamplay and motivate their team to victory. Usually works too and it's one of the things that make eGO servers so fun to play on. It sucks when you have people on your team that are completely on a team of their own.

It'll be even worse when they block you and hinder you, when you die they take your arms. It's really a shame...

im glad there no friendly fire in our pubs then haha

my favorite is when you miss the shot and try strafing away and you are blocked in.. only to turn and see the face of the real enemy before you are shot through the head.

its kind of scary for me because i turned all my graphics down to low so the Axis guys' faces look fugly!

At least thats not as bad as those who spam with
"can someone please give me the sniper" or "If i have that mg well win"
or the most anoying "your causing us to loose cause you suck with the sniper so give it to me"... people can be so rude..

Few things are as annoying as "you suck with 'X' weapon" ... everyone sucked with every weapon at some point. How else are you 'sposed to learn?

GREAT posts , the worst of the worst is anyone saying "give up that weapon" you suck.... There
has to be action by admin right? A warning or
worse.....

On the opposite side of that coin, do you know how annoying it is to be running behind a sniper and he stops to look through his scope in the middle of a narrow alley? ... or a MG who drops to prone in front of you at the exit of an alley or doorway.

It's a double-edged sword that you have to deal with. I play mainly as a riflemen and I cannot count how many times I try to strafe into cover and have been blocked by a MG who's proned beside me or sniper who is looking through the scope oblivious to anything on the periphary.

*shrugs* it happens. Just respawn and put those roudns down range.
