Battlefield 3 Beta

E3 was last week that made many geeks and gamers jump out of their seats screaming, "OMG!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR [insert title here] TO COME OUT! WOOT!!!" Yes, there's a ton of epic titles coming out that I can't wait for either, but something discouraged me while watching the EA announcements... Battlefield 3 Beta. It's going to be open-beta which is great by all means! PC gamers should receive it first since Battlefield was a creation made for the PC. (You're thinking, "That's what I was thinking!") Well, i don't know; About 7 - 8 months ago I purchased Medal of Honor, which I later found out was a mediocre fps game. EA announced Battlefield 3 by offering an invitation to the beta of Battlefield 3, BUT they just announced it will be an OPEN-BETA! Which means, the purchase of Medal of Honor was a lousy purchase on my part, but what about all of those people who bought it just to be invited to the Beta? Did EA do this so they could sell more copies of Medal of Honor or will there be a invitation sent to the owners of Medal of Honor before the OPEN-BETA starts (like a pre-alpha or a early invite to the open-beta)?

I just want to hear y'alls thought on this.

Yea, im not a fan of "Buy this game to get Beta Access to another Game"
I got bullet storm, which wasnt bad, but wasnt amazing either partially because of the GoW 3 Beta (Which is so similar to GoW 2 its not even funny) and i was pissed to find out the beta was open a few days later. It seems like lieing to me.
And dont get me wrong the only game ive wanted more then this ever was Sc2, i think there should be a pre-beta for people who bought Medal of Honor

well if you had played the MoH beta you wouldve known the game wasnt that great, but companies never give out invites to pre-alpha tests, thats for inhouse testers only. however, i believe DICE will probably end up giving those MoH ppl an early invite to the open beta or something, similar to how the BC2 beta worked, ppl who preordered the limited edition got early access to the beta

Not real surprised, honestly. I tend to think they'll give early access to the beta for those players who pre-purchased MOH.

I tried the beta for MOH when it was released and it sucked so bad I just knew I wasn't going to buy it for any reason. Really glad I made that decision now.

On a related note, I hope they give something unique to those who pre-order BF3 (similar to how they do things in TF2, except without hats).

the BF3 preorder comes with back to karkand expansion and an items pack, but they havent said what north america's pack will have but you can look at the european version to get a general idea
